Before you start
- A merchant account approved for e-commerce
- An Authorize.Net gateway account (we create this for you)
- An SSL certificate on your site (the padlock in the address bar)
- Published refund, shipping and privacy policies
Setup in five steps
- Get your API credentials from Authorize.Net: your API Login ID and Transaction Key.
- Install an Authorize.Net payment plugin for WooCommerce from a trusted developer.
- Enter your credentials in WooCommerce → Settings → Payments.
- Turn on fraud checks — address verification (AVS) and security code (CVV) checks.
- Run a test order, then switch to live mode.
Keep it secure
Use a plugin that tokenizes cards or uses Authorize.Net's hosted fields so card numbers never touch your server. This keeps your PCI compliance scope small.

- Use a clear billing descriptor customers recognize.
- Send order confirmation and shipping emails with tracking.
