Your descriptor
Exactly as it appears on a cardholder’s statement, plus any variations your gateway adds. This is the single most important thing on the form — it is how an alert finds its way back to you.
A few identifiers
MID, BIN, CAID or Visa ARN, and your MCC. All of them are on a recent merchant statement. Visa need at least one of these for RDR, because they match on those rather than on the descriptor.
Which programmes you want
Ethoca, CDRN, RDR, Order Insight, TC40, AMEX and Discover. Ethoca and CDRN go live in about 5 to 7 days; RDR takes 14 to 15 because Visa run that enrolment themselves.
